HashHackCode Logic Series

Build the Thinking

The Logic Series develops the thinking behind problem-solving, comprehension and decision-making through structured, graded learning. Learners progress from recognising a new concept to applying it confidently across varied situations with increasing independence.

why-logic

Why Logic Matters More as Technology Advances

As technology, including AI, makes execution easier, the value shifts to the thinking that shapes the request and judges the result. The learner’s role is now to define the problem clearly, maintain their original goal across an interaction, and critically evaluate the output.

The Logic Series develops these foundations, helping learners work with increasingly capable technology with greater judgement and independence.

thinking-skills

What the Logic Series Develops

The Logic Series builds a strong foundation in how learners organise information, recognise patterns, follow sequences, compare possibilities, hold relevant details in mind and make decisions.

The curriculum develops these capabilities through activities practised in different forms and at increasing levels of challenge, helping learners apply the same reasoning when the task or context changes.

  • 01

    Pattern Recognition

Identify repetition, relationships and structure within information.

  • 02

    Sequencing

Understand order and organise steps so one action leads logically to the next.

  • 03

    Classification

Group information by relevant features and distinguish what matters from what does not.

  • 04

    Comparison

Examine similarities, differences and relationships between possibilities.

  • 05

    Quantitative Reasoning

Work with numbers, quantities and spatial relationships, and judge whether an outcome is reasonable.

  • 06

    Comprehension

Interpret information, understand instructions and connect them to the task.

  • 07

    Working Memory

Hold and use relevant information while completing a sequence of actions.

  • 08

    Strategic Judgement

Consider consequences, compare alternatives and make a reasoned choice.

learning-framework

HashHackCode Learning Framework

Every Logic Series course follows the HashHackCode learning framework, moving from broad areas of thinking into focused concepts and graded activities. Each layer increases complexity, reasoning and independence with progressive learning, so learners can progress without too many demands changing at once.

CourseModuleBandWorksheetLevelActivity

01Course
A broad learning domain such as Early Logic or Math Logic.
02Module
A group of related thinking skills developed across the course.
03Band
A colour-coded stage that increases complexity, abstraction and independence.
04Worksheet
A focused learning unit built around one concept.
05Level
One of three depths: Foundational, Elementary and Functional.
06Activity
Graded practice that keeps the concept consistent while increasing the thinking required.

progressive-learning

Three Layers of Progressive Learning

The Logic Series increases challenge across three connected layers, allowing learners to deepen the same underlying thinking before moving into greater complexity. Reasoning, abstraction and independence build progressively rather than increasing all at once.

01

Within a Worksheet

Each worksheet holds one concept steady while the level of reasoning increases. Learners move from recognition and understanding towards more independent application without losing the conceptual thread.

02

Across Worksheets

Worksheets within a band approach the same broader skill from different angles. This gives learners varied practice while strengthening their understanding beyond one task format.

03

Across Bands

The five colour bands revisit familiar thinking with greater complexity, abstraction and independence. As learners progress, they transfer the same underlying skill to less familiar problems and contexts.

Logic Series Courses

Each Logic Series course develops a different set of thinking skills while following the same structured progression towards greater understanding and independence.

Logic SeriesAvailable

Early Logic

Early Logic develops pattern recognition, sequencing, classification, comparison and visual reasoning. Learners begin to identify the structure within information and understand how one action, object or idea relates to another.

Logic SeriesAvailable

Math Logic

Math Logic develops number sense, estimation, spatial reasoning, quantitative relationships and applied mathematical thinking. Learners examine how quantities relate and decide whether a calculation, comparison or conclusion is reasonable.

Logic SeriesUpcoming

Reading Logic

Reading Logic develops systematic decoding, sentence understanding, comprehension and instruction-following. Learners practise identifying what a text says, which information matters and what an instruction requires them to do.

Logic SeriesUpcoming

Memory Logic

Memory Logic develops attention, working memory, recall and retention through structured activity. Learners practise holding relevant information in mind, organising it and using it across a sequence of actions.

Logic SeriesUpcoming

Chess Logic

Chess Logic develops planning, forward thinking, consequence-based reasoning and the ability to weigh trade-offs through structured chess play. Learners compare possible actions, anticipate outcomes and choose deliberately.

future-ready

Building Future-Ready Capability

Each Logic Series course develops thinking skills that transfer across learning, problem-solving and technology.

faq

Frequently Asked Questions

The Logic Series is designed around readiness and current understanding rather than age or grade alone. The curriculum begins with foundational thinking and progresses through increasing levels of complexity, allowing learners to enter at an appropriate point.

The starting point depends on the learner’s current readiness and the kind of thinking they need to strengthen. HashHackCode considers understanding, learning goals and support needs when identifying an appropriate course, band and level.

Learners can begin the Logic Series without previous coding or technology experience. The curriculum develops reasoning foundations that support coding, mathematics, reading and wider problem-solving.

The Logic Series develops underlying reasoning through graded variation and increasing challenge rather than presenting isolated problems to solve. This helps learners recognise and apply the same thinking when the task or context changes.

Progression happens at three levels: within a worksheet, across worksheets and across the colour bands. As understanding becomes more secure, learners work with greater complexity, abstraction and independence.

Variation helps learners recognise the same reasoning across different task formats rather than becoming familiar with only one type of activity. This makes understanding more flexible and easier to transfer to new situations.

Logic Series learning can run alongside Creative Series learning, with courses and modules selected according to what the learner is developing and ready to work on next.

The Logic Series builds the thinking, while the Creative Series gives learners opportunities to apply that thinking through coding, design, language, mathematics and digital creation. Together, they form the wider HashHackCode curriculum.

Early Logic and Math Logic are currently available. Reading Logic, Memory Logic and Chess Logic are upcoming.

The Logic Series develops reasoning that transfers across learning, problem-solving and technology. These foundations help learners structure what they want, maintain context, evaluate what comes back and make more deliberate decisions when working with AI.

Logic Series activities work across devices, including tablets, mobile devices and laptops. A stable internet connection is required to access the learning platform.

The Logic Series is available through HashHackCode Academy, HashHackCode Schools and HashHackCode Educators. Free access to selected lessons can also be requested to experience the HashHackCode approach before choosing a learning pathway.
